In or out of element

Last weekend I had the opportunity to go to see the Blue Angels. It was a great show with many different types of airplanes. I of course had my camera along and I found that I was out of my element. Airplanes are not my thing. I quickly began to realize I had no idea what to do or what to shoot and it was kind of exciting. It was a perfect opportunity to expand my horizons. As the day went on I began to find more creative ideas coming. Being in an environment that is strange and new can pose a lot of challenges and unknowns and it can also bring about an opportunity for growth. I had no trouble filling up a 4 gb card with pictures and I found it all rather enjoyable. I think that it is good to find yourself out of your element. It causes you to have to make a choice of either making the best and moving forward or shrinking back and wondering what could have been. Sometimes its good to put yourself in a place where you are out of your element to encourage growth. I discovered that when you are in that position you begin to pull on creativity and soon you find yourself with ideas that flow.
Dont have any ideas, get out of your element and they will have to come!
until next time

A Welcome

This is my first official blog! There are so many new and exciting things happening. One of the biggest things is Life Concepts Photography! Newly created and I am very excited about it. I hope you all enjoy the website.
I recently went on a hiking trip with some really great people and snapped a few pictures along the way. We went to Lassen National Park in California. What a wondrous and beautiful place full of surprising details. I find that sometimes when you really dont feel like taking your camera someplace and you decide to anyway its always worth it in the end. The next time you dont feel like taking it some place try it out and you may surprise yourself!
